About the session

In February 2020, Shanta was laid off from her job after almost two years. She started looking for a new job, but a couple of weeks later, the global pandemic started. Job postings started drying up, and hiring came to a halt.

The next logical thing to do – according to her, was to open her own business! In this talk, she will discuss all the motions and emotions that she went through from never wanting to have her own company to starting up her own web development business during a pandemic. She will cover some of the things she did right, where she went wrong, what (and who) helped, and what you need to consider before you do it yourself.

This talk is designed for small business owners and is for all skill levels.
