Volunteers make a wordcamp a WordCamp, they basically make it happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So what\u2019s in it for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Volunteering makes you an integral part of the WordPress global project. It is the perfect opportunity to get involved with WordPress, the world\u2019s most popular website Content Management System (CMS). WordPress also has a powerful and growing community, which is empowered, connected and inspired by WordCamps.&nbsp;<\/li><li>You will meet (virtually) folks from all over India and, indeed, the world: fellow volunteers, attendees, speakers and sponsors. Not only is this a great opportunity for starting or strengthening friendships, but also for networking and developing professional relationships.<\/li><li>You will get an exclusive look behind the scenes of organising the regional WordCamp India.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\u2019s the commitment?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteering is vitally important, so we do have some specific guidelines, but we also want you to have fun! Here\u2019s what you can expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Time commitment<\/strong><br>Your commitment depends upon the role you choose or the role you are chosen for. Some of these roles will be busy before the WordCamp, some will be busy during the WordCamp. This will not be a full time commitment, but definitely your presence will be required when the duty beckons.<\/li><li><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br>Specific responsibilities vary by role, and you can indicate which roles you are most interested in on the application form.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Various roles for volunteers:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Communications<\/li><li>Design\/Creatives<\/li><li>Social Media<\/li><li>Emceeing<\/li><li>Timekeeping<\/li><li>Technology support<\/li><li>Show running<\/li><li>Video editing<\/li><li>Live streaming<\/li><li>Monitoring the live meetings.<\/li><li>Sponsor Support<\/li><li>Speaker Support<\/li><li>Workshop Support<\/li><li>Contributors Support<\/li><li>Timetable\/Schedule Support<\/li><li>Captioning<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Regardless of your role, you will be expected to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be the friendly face of WordCamp India and the WordPress project, abiding by the<a href=\"https:\/\/india.wordcamp.org\/2021\/code-of-conduct\/\"> Code of Conduct<\/a> at all times and working to be as helpful as you can throughout the conference.<\/li><li>Attend a Volunteer Orientation (date\/time to be announced soon).<\/li><li>Perform volunteer duties as assigned.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Call for Volunteers closes on <strong>10 January 2021<\/strong>.<br>You will be informed about your selection by <strong>14 January 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, reach out to <a href=\"mailto:india@wordcamp.org\">india@wordcamp.org<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/india.wordcamp.org\/2021\/contact\/\">contact us<\/a> directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"volunteer-call\">Thank you for your help!
